Our Journey
After spending nearly a decade as a military family, Brandon and I began homesteading in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona with our 3 kids. We both grew up with a love for animals and learning new skills. As a family, we share a passion for DIY, good food & a love of nature so much that we turned our little quarter acre of HOA regulated suburbia into our own little garden paradise.
Chloe 14, Corbin 13 & Callie 11, are the reason we do what we do. They absolutely love sharing all about our gardens, animals & recipes with anyone who will listen. While harvesting, labeling & packaging is all hands on deck, each of them have begun to find their space within the family business. Chloe has become quite the photographer. You will find many of her photos in our shop & on our social media. Corbin enjoys taste testing recipes the most but helping care for the animals comes in a close second & I am enjoying how strong he has become to help around the homestead. Callie loves helping at the markets. She really shines helping customers find new seeds & learn about all of the things we offer.
From our garden we grow herbs, medicinals, vegetables, fruits and flowers that are all used not only to nourish and heal our family, friends, and neighbors, but also to create beautiful products that we offer our customers. All of our products are made by hand in small batches with quality ingredients. The best part is that we are always happy to share recipes, techniques, and knowledge so you can create your own! We even offer seeds for almost all of the ingredients in our products.
Growing a garden in our unforgiving desert climate can be a challenge. I quickly learned the value of climate adapted seeds and for the past 4 years, I have worked hard to cultivate a collection of seeds that will thrive not only in our arid region, but anywhere they are planted.
In 2021 we began raising and breeding coturnix quail for eggs, meat, and entertainment. Currently we have 4 breeding groups and a large covey of laying hens in our backyard aviary & quail condos. We look forward to adding a celadon breeding group to our covey very soon. It is such an amazing experience with chicks hatching monthly there is never a lack of cuteness on the homestead. We truly believe that quail are the answer to suburban homesteading where chickens are restricted.
Welcome to our family, the door is always open and there is always an extra spot at the table.
